KITES ON ICE FESTIVAL (Madison, WI): Kites on Ice is an annual kite celebration that takes place on a frozen lake that includes sport kite competition drill teams and stationary kites. Adrenaline flows as participants are pulled across the ice on a pair of skis by quad-lined kites, reaching speeds of 40 to 60 miles per hour and are pulled aloft by the sheer force of the wind.
